The Islay Food Bank was set up in 2019 by a team of volunteers and churches together. Previously know as “the Islay & Jura Community Store Cupboard”, the aim is to provide a service much like a mainland Foodbank, but tailored to the Island’s unique needs.
The Foodbank has collection points in the Bowmore Co-Op and churches around the Island.
We work with social services and key workers to make sure essential supplies are delivered to those who need it and man a confidential phone line on Monday’s & Fridays for anyone to call.
