For the last twelve years the churches together on Islay have run a week of summer fun! Each year we have a theme and in recent years we have been to space, the arctic, under the sea and back in time!

Along the way, we explore Bible stories, discuss life’s big questions and learn about our great big God!

DO I NEED TO REGISTER ONLINE?

Yes please! we are thrilled that the Beach Club is so popular but we do have a limit to the number of children we can take. We are usually fully signed up by the time Beach Club starts and do not want to disappoint children turning up on the day who we don’t have room for.

Prior registration is also essential for us as we need to know information such as allergies and dietary requirements, in order to be able to keep your children safe.

WHO IS IT FOR?

All school age children are welcome! As long as your little one has completed a year in P1 (Scotland) or year 1 (England). Unfortunately, we are not equipped to take younger children who have not been in a school environment. We tailor our activities for different age groups. We also run evening events for teenagers and students.

On holiday? That’s great! Even if you’re just vising Islay this summer your children are welcome.

If your child has additional needs: Please do get in touch with us. We aim to make the beach club as accessible as possible and can accommodate children with some additional needs. However our team is run by volunteers, so unfortunately we don’t have the expertise required to cater for children with acute disabilities.

THE TEAM

Islay Baptist church works with the the Church of Scotland on Islay to facilitate this annual event. The team leaders include Andrew & Emily Burnham who have been involve with children & youth work for many years and have undergone extensive safe-guarding training. This year we are again being supported by our friends from Pershore Baptist Church as well as a team of students from Edinburgh. Everyone in the team has passed full PVG checks and received child protection training as we are passionate about keeping children safe while we have our fun!
